It’s your home.
You belong here.
Focusing on You
01 — it doesn't take much to make us happy
sit outside at fire pit and get that fire roaring, someone hands you a nice plated meal, which you enjoy while sipping your favorite beverage. you're gonna be happy in that moment - almost anybody can be happy in that moment.
02 — when the fire dies down
everybody grabs a blanket cuddles closer to the fire. eventually the outdoors part of the evening is over - wander back into the house where it's warm.
03 — we go inside
where we feel safe and comfortable. and where we have a measure of control over our comfort that is greater than being outside. anybody can have a happy moment when they first get HVAC equipment installed in their home. It's going to make them warm or cool where they weren't before.
04 — to continue the evening with family & friends
as the evening winds down, we wonder what about this experience that is so different from our every day. obviously, friends and family and fires are fantastic. but they are not constants, they are events we look forward to. work is a constant. sometimes on a laptop, sometimes with a phone. school is a constant, with homework and planning and projects. what happens if you are doing those things and the temperature drops or you feel uncomfortable?
05 — until we become uncomfortable
contractors are experts in their respective trades. they are typically trained, licensed and insured in one trade. if you call a plumber for comfort issues, the plumber will try to get you to replace whatever appliance you already have. like for like is the rule, unless the plumber doesn’t deal with your heating or cooling appliance, then you will be given a list of reasons why the appliances the plumber installs are superior to your appliance. what the plumber is almost never going to do is look at the rest of your house to see why else you may have comfort complaints. unless you tell them you need electrical, or carpentry, or HVAC work. plumbers are used to dealing with other contractors. electricians, carpenters, HVAC installers and technicians, etc., and they are usually happy to make a call to another contractor.
06 — then we need to change
contractors are almost never going to look at the rest of your house to see why else you may have comfort complaints. they are specialists and they are looking at the subsystem that is their specialty -very thoroughly. its just that rather than asking you what you are sensing, and how you feel, they are asking when you want your boiler or furnace, or air conditioner installed. many have the ability to analyze their subsystem, and have the implied incentive to optimize their part of your house, even if that means that the rest of the house system suffers.
07 — to be happy again
which is exactly why you are uncomfortable in the first place. but you probably already knew that, we help you look at adjacent subsystems within the house and deeply understand how one affects the other, and even better, understand how the house system must synthesize, holistically, if the goal is your comfort. please let us help.
